Binary package hint: ubiquity
Just tried a fresh cdimage from 1/11/07 on my Dell D800 Latitude laptop.
I configured networking once the live cd launched. Next, I tried to
install to one of my disks on my laptop. When it got to ask me for the
keyboard I chose US English. Next the screen went weird and everything
froze. I then did a ctl-alt-F1 to get to a prompt. Next I did sudo
apt-get upgrade. Then I did sudo apt-get update and it appeared to
update a file. I then did ctl-alt-F7 and then screen appeared asking me
for a userid and password. I entered the info and it next entered the
partition phase but afterward crashed putting me back into the livecd
screen. Attached are the syslog and partman files.
