** Description changed:

Similar to bug 240962: after enabling the Nvidia driver in jockey and
rebooting, the screen resolution is set to something like 640x480, and
the screen resolution dialog doesn't offer a higher resolution. With the
nv driver it works correctly at 1024x786.

In /var/log/apt/term.log it says that nvidia-glx
1:96.43.05+2.6.24.14-22.53 was installed; apparently it should install
  nvidia-glx-legacy instead.

This is on Ubuntu 8.04 with all updates, with jockey-gtk
  0.3.3-0ubuntu8.1 and linux-restricted-modules-generic 2.6.24.22.24 .
  Output from lspci is attached.
