** Description changed: Similar to bug 240962: after enabling the Nvidia driver in jockey and rebooting, the screen resolution is set to something like 640x480, and the screen resolution dialog doesn't offer a higher resolution. With the nv driver it works correctly at 1024x786. In /var/log/apt/term.log it says that nvidia-glx 1:96.43.05+2.6.24.14-22.53 was installed; apparently it should install nvidia-glx-legacy instead. This is on Ubuntu 8.04 with all updates, with jockey-gtk 0.3.3-0ubuntu8.1 and linux-restricted-modules-generic 2.6.24.22.24 . Output from lspci is attached. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 82845 845 [Brookdale] Chipset Host Bridge [8086:1a30] (rev 04) + Subsystem: Intel Corporation 82845 845 [Brookdale] Chipset Host Bridge [8086:1a30] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation NV11 [GeForce2 MX/MX 400] [10de:0110] (rev b2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: C.P.
