** Description changed:

  Using Kubuntu Jaunty x64, about half of the time you tell the computer
  to logout, shutdown, or reboot, KDE gets stuck on a black or white
  screen, as if it has logged out but not passed control back to KDM.
  There is no error message displayed, it just gets stuck.  The only way
  to get around this bug is to drop to a text console, login, and execute
  the reboot or halt command manually.
