** Description changed:

  My system is using NVidia's separate X-screen instead of TwinView. If I
  click Places->Home Folder in the 2nd screen it opens in the first
  screen. This is 100% reproducible.

  Same behaviour observed if running
  DISPLAY=:0.1 nautilus --browser
  or if running from Alt-F2

  However, for gnome-terminal, running from the menus opens it in the wrong
(first) screen, but running
  DISPLAY=:0.1 gnome-terminal
  or running from Alt-F2 opens it in the correct (2nd) screen.

  Firefox/thunderbird open properly in the 2nd screen in all cases.
  Compiz-config settings manager has same behaviour as gnome-terminal.
  Problem seems to be non-app specific.

  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1089578 shows another user with
  the same problem. May be linked to the binary nvidia, am unable to test
  without since I'm not aware of any way to get separate X with nv or
  mesa.
