** Description changed:
Graphics start normally up to the point that you login. Then the
xserver presents the normal Ibex background (yes this is Jaunty) and
then exits back to the login screen. This occurs both with my own
session and the Gnone Failsafe session. The terminal only session works
correctly. Disabling DRI in /etc/X11/xorg.conf allows you to login
normally.
I logged in using the Sessions menu, selecting the terminal failsafe
option and then modifying my X configuration. I modified my Section
"Device" to look like this in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to get things working:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "DRI" "off"
EndSection
I would also note that switching VTs via Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc did not work
correctly without disabling this option.
It should also be noted that this is a pretty serious bug for a normal
user as they are unable to login to get help nor even change this
themselves without knowing about the failsafe terminal options.
