Binary package hint: evolution
PROBLEM:
Evolution cannot read ANY email (I have several accounts) but, instead, reports:
"Error while Fetching Email."
HISTORY:
I recently had a PASSWORD problem (this may be the hint!) and sought to
correct matters by resetting EVOLUTION-PASSWORDS for ALL email-accounts
and then re-entering all passwords.
Now, happily, I can SEND to all accounts.
However, I CANNOT RECEIVE on ANY email-account.
When I click "SEND/RECEIVE", I cannot receive and instead get the
(unhelpful) message "Error while Fetching Mail." Perhaps a single email-
account is preventing reception of email on ALL accounts (i.e., perhaps
EVOLUTION quits upon first failed attempt to read). >>> Earlier in the
day I was able to receive on some, but not on all, accounts. <<<
SUGGESTION[1]: Evolution should IDENTIFY the account it is trying to read/write
and the activity ("read" or "write").
SUGGESTION[2]: Evolution should try ALL accounts when reading/writing in a
multi-email situation.
SUGGESTION[3]: Evolution should give an informative error message.
My Ubuntu is up-to-date ("About Ubuntu" reveals nothing, another bug), but GRUB
shows:
