Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: hplip
On Jaunty, using hplip 3.9.2-3ubuntu4
I have a MFP1522n and try to use network scanning (not USB).
Starting xsane it tries to connect to the printer and fails with the following
error in syslog:
xsane: scan/sane/soapht.c 67: unable to load restricted library:
libhpmud.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Creating a link to /usr/lib/libhpmud.so.0 works around the issue:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libhpmud.so.0 /usr/lib/libhpmud.so
If you install the hp-plugin network scanning then works perfectly.
** Affects: hplip (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
--
Network scanning on HP1522n fails because it looks for libhpmud.so instead of
libhpmud.so.0
