Public bug reported:
After an inline upgrade from Ubuntu 8.04.1 x86 to Ubuntu 9.04 x86 sound stops
working on a Dell Precision 390.
Hardware details attached.
I was able to narrow the problem down to alsa.conf as installed by libasound2.
When I copy that file from the Live CD of 8.04.1 to the 9.04 installation sound
works just fine.
libasound2 is at 1.0.18-1ubuntu9 on the affected system.
