I'd just like to say that forcing the notifications at the top of the screen renders them useless for me -- not because I have a special preference for the bottom vs top corner, or because I want things to 'go back to how they were', or even because I want to be able to configure everything all the time...
Instead, it's unusable for me because I have a dual head setup that is arranged vertically (in order to be able to stay within my poor graphics card's 2048x2048 virtual screen limit). The second monitor (on top) is actually a tv screen across the room from me. I've had Jaunty installed for a week or two, and only today did I realize that I had notifications at all! So, if I understand correctly, my choices now are: -buy a better graphics card -disable my second monitor when I want to see the notifications -patch and recompile notify-osd -remove notify-osd and reinstall the older daemon It's a pity, because (having disabled my second monitor today), I actually like the new notifications... -- notify-osd doesn't honor my preference https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
