** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel On my Dell Latitude E5400, which has intel X4500 graphics 1) XAA crashes xorg 2) EXA results in graphical corruption: some window elements are not drawn and replaced by garbage, background windows or parts of the desktop. 3) UXA works, with some bugs, but is by far the most useable. This seems to be independent of having desktop effects activated or not, and IIRC happened after my last upgrade of xorg-intel. Currently, having EXA by befault is definitely a problem on this system.[edit] ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= PATH=(cususernamem, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersion: Linux version 2.6.28-11-generic (bui...@rothera) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #41-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 8 04:38:53 UTC 2009 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686 + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a40] (rev 07) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0262] + 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0262]
