This and that. Seems fine to have an explanation a bit more obvious like that :) I thought i might re-post the work-around again too because it takes a lot of scrolling and hunting around at the moment.
Open a terminal window (Applications menu - Accessories - Terminal) and type gstreamer-properties in the pop-up box choose the Video tab and from the output drop-down list choose the option that says '... (no Xv)' Good luck and have fun.
