I get (with ps):

/usr/bin/python /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk -f -p apport
That means that apport-gtk uses 108 MB of physical memory. I'm afraid it
won't get much better with all the Python, pygtk, python-apt and other
magic that it has to do :-/ Do you get significantly different numbers?
