I can reproduce this bug as follows:
1. Configure pidgin to hide all conversations by default (may not be necessary 
to reproduce).
2. Configure pidgin to connect to an AIM account.
3. On another machine, log on to the same AIM account.
- On first machine will see a "you've logged onto this account from another 
computer" message notification.
4. Click the notification applet and choose the new message from the menu to 
open it in a window.
5. Close the conversation window by clicking on the window manager close button.
- Note: You have to click on the close button twice, as the first time, it will 
just blank the window, but not close it.
6. On the other machine, log off AIM and log back on.
- On first machine, pidgin will crash.
