The attached logs do not mention postgresql anywhere. Are you sure that
they are from the machine which had the postgresql-8.3 install failure?
If you still have this problem, please give me the output of
sudo apt-get install postgresql-8.3
sudo sh -x /var/lib/dpkg/info/postgresql-8.3.postinst configure
8.3.5-0ubuntu8.10
