Sorry, I have not seen the previous bug report On other hand I am a bit surprise, when I use gradients i.e. colour continuously from red to yellow for example (sorry I'm French, and my English is not 100% OK) I have no problem to save it in .pdf and to print from the pdf file, or to print from the svg file. (here attached an example) Problem only with pattern (Stripe / Dot and so on) I use Windows XP professional, adobe 8 and INKSCAPE .46
