Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: file-roller
Ubuntu 9.04.
I have a set of rar files with extensions .rar, .r00, .r01.... etc.
stored on a remote smb:// mount
Double-clicking the .rar in Nautilus opens the first .rar in file-
roller, and the gvfs layer has cleverly remapped the URL to a UNIX path
behind the scenes:
8301 ? Sl 0:01 file-roller /home/gdh/.gvfs/wrz on
eddie/nuse/DIVX_The_Genius_Of_Charles_Darwin_Part_1/the.genius.of.charles.darwin.part1.ws.pdtv
.xvid-council.rar
>From this I would assume that executing an 'Extract' to the Desktop
would succeed, but this is not the case. Pressing Extract causes an
error dialog:
"Cannot find volume
/home/gdh/.cache/.fr-nhCs2t/the.genius.of.charles.darwin.part1.ws.pdtv.xvid-council.r00
the.genius.of.charles.darwin.part1.ws.pdtv.xvid-council.avi - CRC failed"
There's a bad logic bug here. Why is it still switching from the UNIX
path in ~/.gvfs to ~/.cache dir? The .cache hack is no longer necessary
with gvfs-fuse!
