this note at the bottom is only for pre dapper installs, in dapper ltsp- utils was removed from the archive to avoid breakage. with breezy being unsupported from april on we can drop it completely ...
the ltsp-build-client command builds your client environment as the name suggests ;) (and has a very informative manpage) the purpose of ltsp 5 is to configure as much as possible automatically, the only thing you possibly need to configure is mentioned in the QuickInstall doc (/etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf) if you want to use a different IP range for the clients. all three services used on the server side (tftp, nfs and dhcp) are indeed the same you use in ltsp 4.2 so the documentation you can find at ltsp.org applies. with upstream switching to our ltsp5 version soon the docs there will all be adjusted (actually the whole ltsp.org site is undergoing an overhaul) i found it useless to add the QuckInstall doc to ltsp- server(-standalone), simply because it tells you only to install the package ... i'm willing to cut it down to the two senteces that apply to ltsp-build-client and dhcpd.conf and ship it in /usr/share/doc if thats helpful though. -- configuration instructions missing from ltsp-server https://launchpad.net/bugs/78927 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
