** Description changed:

After an update to Ubuntu 9.04rc, there is no more sound. I followed the
instructions in the no sound sticky thread but no dice. The computer
recognizes the card and alsa is picking up the driver. I purged and
reinstalled Alsa but no dice again. I have read several persons
- complaining of the same thing after the update.
+ complaining of the same thing after the update. An update - USB sound
+ and mic works in Skype, USB sound works in test sound in sound
+ preferences, USB mic does not work in sound recorder. Sound works
+ through Alsa Mixer with analog headphones but there is no sound from the
+ onboard speakers or input from the onboard mic. I am now fully updated
+ and running 9.04 netbook remix. I tried running from USB, still no sound
+ from computer speakers. I even updated to the newest alsa drivers, etc.
