I just figured out, that after I restarted my machine, it was set back to the default although xorg.conf was still set right.
I am not sure if there is a user based file. But now I have the following solution: $ setxkbmap -model jp106 -layout jp and even after a restart the right assignment is still maintained. Maybe somebody with better knowledge of xorg keyboard stuff can figure it out exactly. -- In xorg.conf the "XkbModel" setting for Japanese jp106 keyboard is wrong https://launchpad.net/bugs/53206 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
