the tool list the changes which are going to be applied, if you use a
distribution being worked like feisty you should have a look on what the
upgrade is going to do before accepting it, not a bug from the
distribution, some packages were not installable due to a python
transition, you should reinstall ubuntu-desktop to get GNOME working
again
