Marked as buplicate of Bug #271706. Kyle Ktemkin concludes that this is
an issue in the evdev driver, which replaced the older kbd driver. Some
laptop models' volume buttons do not report key release events. A
temporary fix, which must be reapplied every time the evdev driver is
patched, is included in the comments.
