Well I tried this walkthrough a couple of times, but on my machine there is no reaction from the wallet. And the trick of unchecking / rechecking the wlan interface enable box indeed performs a rescan of the available networks, but still doesn't find my hidden wlan essid. Anybody else with an idea for a workaround ?
