If you have two machines available, please install ssh on the machine that exhibits the bug and then login from the other computer to the troubled machine and run the command from there. This is the best option because then we capture the logs with the logs fresh containing eventual error print outs etc.
Otherwise, maybe try typing "ALT-F2", then typing "gnome-terminal" and then pressing ENTER (that's a complete long shot). Or, if that doesn't work try pressing CTRL-ALT-F1 to switch to a virtual console (VT) in text mode. As a last resort, try booting the machine with the external monitor disconnected (using this method we won't see any error etc in the logs but at least we can determine what exactly your graphics card is plus versions of packages etc) -- Stuck in Mirror Screen mode w/ Dual Monitors-no menu bar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367562 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
