** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-app-install

When using the "Add/Remove Applications" GUI, if you type an app name
that is NOT on the list into the search box, further searches for any
apps, even ones that are installed, will yield no results.*

I believe this bug to be reproducible:

Songbird is not on the list of apps. Type in "Songbird" and you will
naturally get no results. Now type a known app, "Firefox." This search
  will yield no results.

To my knowledge, the GUI worked perfectly in Intrepid, but is broken in
- Jaunty. Using AMD64 'buntu. Package version "0.5.24-0ubuntu1"
+ Jaunty. Using AMD64 'buntu 9.04. Package version "0.5.24-0ubuntu1"

  * You can sometimes mitigate this by clicking on a software category and
then clicking "all," but this does not always work.
