Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Hardware: Acer Extensa 5230 with ndiswrapper and
Wireless_Atheros_V5.3.0.67_XP_XB63_XB62(WHQL)
After upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 WLAN connection with WPA encryption do
not work anymore. WEP encryption is still functionable. Everything
worked perfectly also with WPA/WPA2 in 8.10.
The network is visible but never connected. Router log just says the
WLAN station was disconnected. Tried also wpa_supplicant with wpa_gui -
same result.
Strange thing is that the attached logs show that there is a dhcp
timeout. Thus i tried to work with manual ip address. NetworkManager
then says the connection was successful which is not true as still no
working connection is established. The router log shows the same
Disconnect messages as before. So obviously the connection is immediatly
disconnected.
This WPA bug is discussed on several web sites but nobody has obviously
a working solution so far.
