I completely agree with you !

Maybe now the official release of jaunty is out they'll work on this ?
Well I found a mean to do what I needed - resize of lots of images - with 
mogrify (a shell bin).

But definitely looking toward an update of gwenview & kipi

Status in “gwenview” source package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gwenview

I'm using Gwenview 4.1.2 in Intrepid and I have installed the kipi-
plugins and the libkipi0 and libkipi5 packages. However, when I open a
photo in gwenview and I select the plugins menu, all the categories are
empty.
