In Ubuntu Jaunty [release version] on Dell Vostro 1710 [same hardware] I
see different behaviour from Intrepid.  On Jaunty insertion of an SD or
MMC card results in absolutely nothing.  No dmesg output...nothing as
far as I can see.  On Intrepid, the MMC card worked, but now with
Jaunty, I see nothing whatsoever.

In Jaunty demsg output:
