** Attachment added: "debdiff for the stable update"
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26045385/libxklavier.debdiff
** Description changed:
The visible issue is that gnome-settings-daemon does not reconfigure USB kbd
when it is plugged out-in.
The reason for that is that libxklavier is not notified about XInput event.
- The root cause for that is (most probably, I am 99% sure) that libxklavier is
built without xinput support. I checked libxklavier 3.9 on my system - it works
ok with custom-built .so. But it does not work with existing jaunty .deb. Just
rebuilding should be enough, just make sure it detected xinput headers - it is
visible in the configure output).
+
+ TESTCASE:
+ * configure custom settings for an usb keyboard
+ * unplug the keyboard
+ * connect it again and see if the changes are applied again or not
