I have Kubuntu 8.10 installed in my computer
I am using a USB drive to access the internet (wireless mode) and I manage the
connection through KNetworkManager
It has happened several times that I open KNetwork and ask for an internet
connection but the application freezes while connecting and freezes the
operating system so that the only option is to press the start button to
restart it manually.
After a couple of times it connects. This might be due to the fact that login
failed (it might happen, I am connecting from Ukraine, where providers are not
the best in the world) but I would expect KNetwork to simply be incapable, not
to freeze everything else
