I have had problems with Evolution since I started with Ubuntu 6.10. And
now, I just did a completely fresh load of Jaunty and I get this bug
about one in every 8-9 message ops in Evolution.
Now, I'm not saying that Ubuntu developers MUST fix this bug, but I
think it is an extremely poor decision to include this kind of bug in
their Ubuntu release. By definition, if you include it in your release,
you are on the hook for it.
In short, if you don't intend on fixing the problem then stop including
Evolution by default and frustrating people. It should either work or
not be there.
Heck, why not just include Thunderbird by default, after all, for POP
and IMAP it works and works well. I have relatively few problems with
it.
And before anyone says "Thunderbird doesn't have good Exchange support"
I would offer that with this bug neither does Evolution.
So, if anyone has potential bug fix, I would gladly test any solutions.
I don't rely on Evolution, I keep a third machine at my desk just to run
Outlook and MS Office to keep the coats and ties happy. So I can afford
to have Evolution broken for testing.
