If you're using Kerberos, your clock needs to be kept in sync with the
time on that server, which is certainly no more guaranteed by *not*
running a time sync service.  Surely the more correct fix, rather than
disabling the running of ntpdate on interface up, is to configure the
correct time server in /etc/default/ntpdate?

Furthermore, if your KDC's time is more than 5 minutes off from
ntp.ubuntu.com, then your KDC's time is wrong by more than 5 minutes.
:-)  Surely it would be time better spent to address that root bug?
