I do not assume this has been resolved by the latest Jaunty release.
Without more information this is hard to get resolved. Some things to
try, if this is still of interest, are to use "debug" and/or
"all_generic_ide" (though it seems your system is SCSI only). With a
SCSI only system, which controller? Are all IDE controllers disabled?
Could one get enabled for testing? As I have a mostly similar system, I
am also wondering why installation from CD is not possible. Got an
Adaptec controller which allow to boot from a SCSI DVD drive (sure not a
fix but would be a work around).
