I have just located and corrected the source of the problem on my system. Martinsustek's comments gave me some thoughts. By systematically disabling built-in components in the system BIOS of the M2N-SLI motherboard I traced the pause to the fact that the second embedded (Intel) ethernet port was enabled but not connected. It appears the system does not recognise the state of the interface as being disconnected and waits for a response.
By disabling the second ethernet port in BIOS the extended pause is eliminated. -- Long delay during boot screen Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355299 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
