Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-11-generic.

It appears that files left in /lib/modules/`uname -r` are not cleaned up
properly when removing old kernel versions. This results in some
directories for the old kernel left behind. According to below-linked
bug report, these files are generated by depmod when using dkms, but
should be removed by the kernel uninstall.

See <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456857> and attached
logfile for more information.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
