Public bug reported:

I have noticed this on several Ubuntu 9.04 32 and 64-bit computers.
After performing a few searches in Add/Remove programs, the window will
just stop searching. It doesn't matter what you type, it just doesn't do
anything. I have to close the window and reopen it so it will start
searching again.

There *really* needs to be a search button. I don't know why someone
would design the interface with just the "brush" icon. Make that a
search button and this problem goes away. Plus I'd imagine the servers
would be happier if they didn't have to respond to so many queries.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
