The patch was written by upstream developer / coding ninja Michel
Dänzer, he's the one you should thank. You can safely leave the DEB
installed for a while if it help your stability. In general we never
apply patches until they have been commited upstream just because we
want to make sure that the patch is approved as a high quality fix by
upstream. As soon as Dänzer commits a final patch I will talk to Bryce
about getting this into karmic and also a potential SRU for jaunty.

The more people that test these DEBs, the higher the probability is that
we can release it as an update to jaunty.
