Chris - what was the exact behaviour you experienced with the updated
version? Did you see a notification telling you that there was an error
with the index? If so, what happened after that? Did you see a further
notification telling you that re-indexing was going to start? At which
point did you have to delete the contents of ~/.cache and
~/.local/share?

The reason I ask is that once an index error is detected and a reindex
is requested, the new version already deletes everything from these
folders. But if the index is large, it may take some time for the files
to be deleted.
