Just found this report after a number of forced reboots, Chiming in with
another verification.

Running Stock Jaunty: 2.6.28-11-generic (bui...@palmer) (gcc version
4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC
2009

Have a 3TB 4-drive software RAID-5 array with EXT4. Hangs without fail
any time a large directory full of files is rm'd. This is my first time
using EXT4. I only had confidence in it because of the mainstream
Ubuntu release, I would not have tried it otherwise!

This is one of the worst travesties I have experienced using a
mainstream Distro, I hope a cause (fix) is found soon!
