Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
By default, the grey alignment arrows on the ruler do not "snap" to
their next position: instead, they have complete freedom of movement.
This makes it near-on impossible to ensure that seperated tables in the
same document, are correctly aligned.
I can not find this feature in the options.
This feature is switched on by default in other office applications such
as Abiword and MS Office.
This applies to all versions of open-office I have tried, from 2.4 to
the current release of 3.0.1.
This problem can be replicated easily as it is a standard feature of the
program.
The problem occurs on all tested distributions (including Ubuntu
8.10/9.04, opensuse 11.1, and Fedora 10.
I would like to see at least the option to use snapping ruler increments
in the future.
Thank you
