@Mario, since you have an nvidia card please open a separate bug. When you open this bug do it using the terminal command "ubuntu-bug xorg" so we can gets hardware and software configuration details attach to the bug report. Also, it would be in particularly valuable for us if you saved a copy of xorg.log and xorg.log.old right when you tried to boot but ended up in a text mode console instead. Thanks.
