Public bug reported: I am unable to use any of the VT-x virtualization functionality on my Toshiba Qosmio without a complete system freeze. This includes VirtualBox and KVM.
I had reported this here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox-ose/+bug/347487 But have since realized that the problem lies with toshiba_acpi. When this module is blacklisted, I can load KVM and boot virtual guest without problem. When loaded the same complete freeze occurs. The dmesg and lspci are included in the aforementioned bug report. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- toshiba_acpi cause system lockup with any vt-x usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370307 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
