Looks like my latest reported configuration works good : - PPA drivers - EXA config as described above
Getting good performance, haven't seen any graphics artifacts or corruption, apparently survives system suspend/resume with no problem (but only tested 3-4 times). The exact same config (but without having installed fixmtrr.sh) also seems to work good on a Dell XPS M1330 (Intel GM965) and gives a 20-30 FPS rate in ppracer on this machine. On the Dell XPS M1330, using original xorg config (after Jaunty update) would produce horrible graphics artifacts in ppracer.
