After installing Jaunty a few times I wanted to clarify this a bit. The current behavior is that if a mismatched password is entered it displays a graphic beside the password box(es). I'm actually not sure whether this graphic first appears upon leaving the password box or after attempting to go to the next step in the installer; I'm guessing the latter.
I'd recommend that the installer compare the password boxes anytime the a password box loses focus. This way the passwords are checked for mismatch immediately and if they do match the graphic can be removed. Not updating until hitting the 'Next' button seems less user-friendly. Requiring the user to attempt to go to the next screen before checking distances the problem (mismatched password) from the action (typing in the password). It is maybe how you'd expect a web page to work not how you'd expect a "real" program to work. -- installer does not remove mismatch password graphic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363312 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
