This can probably be marked a duplicate of some other bug. It is a small piece of a larger problem. Namely, the audio settings on a MacBook are poorly configured. I don't know whether it's possible to configure volume settings and whatnot when installing ALSA but it would definitely provide a better user experience if sound worked better out- of-the-box.
By default one speaker is muted (Surround) and another is turned up to loud so that distortion occurs (Front). Additionally, Master/PCM poorly scale audio as described previously. PulseAudio remedies the Master/PCM scaling issue but it is not the default (yet). -- Volume Scales Improperly by Default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349618 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
