Binary package hint: thunar-volman
In Xubuntu 9.04 neither the desktop nor the filemanager Thunar are
displaying or mounting fixed media. That is, filesystems not listed in
fstab. Same goes for the "Places" menu in the panel. Only way to access
files on other partititions is to open any application and pretend to
open a file: in this case the filesystems suddenly show up in the
filechooser. Jay!
thunar-volman --device-added <some-udi-here> shows following error:
Failed to mount "17G Volume".
org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <-- (action,
result)
This is partially related to bug#224830.
This is a show stopper bug: I can not copy off my data to an external
hard disk, USB stick, what ever...
