Doesn't sounds like the same thing sorry - if anything more than your mouse pointer works on you screen it probably isn't. And I don't think people with the Intel video lock-ups have any high CPU.
(Suggestion: Check your 'System Monitor' is displaying all processes (on view menu). I noticed that when you upgrade to Jaunty this preference is reverted to just show your processes. If you are looking at all processes you might see what it using you CPU. Likely it is trackerd using up all of your CPU. It seem almost everyone upgrading to Jaunty has their trackerd go haywire and consume CPU or repeatedly complain of corrupt indices.
