Motherboard ASUS M2A VM with chipset AMD 690 G Seagate sata harddisk. I had this problem when installing intrepid live cd where it used to read hard disk instead of the cd rom drive as if confused which device is which.
I had to give additional boot options in live cd all-generic-ide and pci=nomsi. But not sure which option did the trick because it didnt really work first time and after a few times with those flags ,it booted from cd. After installation i never had problems though. BUt with upgrade to jaunty, /dev/scd0 (which was device name in intrepid) doesnt even exist. Hope that helps. regards rajeev -- cdrom not seen in jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370752 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
