I upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 and found it painfully slow. I could not make much sense of all the talk on many forums until I came across the appearance settings documentation.
In "System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects" I changed the settings from "Normal" to "None" and now my computer works just like it did before the upgrade. Unfortunately, I have no idea if the setting before was "None", but I suspect so. I hope this is useful to other users. -- Since upgrading to 9.04 Web browsing is extremly slow and even switching tabs is slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
