Hadmut, Alternatively to apport-collect please add the information as described under the "Printer detection" section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems, run the $ lpinfo -v command a few times to see if your printer is detected persistently. Please also add the output of the printingbuginfo script as described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PrintingBugInfoScript, it should be possible to manually install the 8.04 deb under 9.04.
