Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 9.04
Gnome: 2.26.1

When I plug in my USB speaker, the system recognizes it and I can set it
as my main speaker through System->Preferences->Sound. The sound of most
applications is redirected to my USB speakers, but anytime I play a
flash video in a web browser (either Firefox or Epiphany), the sound
does not come out of my USB speaker, but is played out of the normal
speakers connected to my computer. It appears that either flash or
firefox do not respect the sound settings in gnome-sound-properties.

TO REPRODUCE:
1. Plug in USB speaker
2. Set "Music and Movies" to play sound out of usb speakers using
gnome-sound-properties
3. Open Firefox, go to Youtube and play a video

EXPECTED RESULT:
- The sound of the Youtube video should come out of the USB speakers

ACTUAL RESULT:
- The sound of the Youtube video comes out of the normal speakers attached to
my computer (and not the USB speakers)

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
